Raw hides and skins obtained from slaughterhouses require immediate treatment with salt in order to be stored for a longer period of time before they are placed on the market or further processed. The skins are delivered to the main facilities of Translogistik Ltd. in Gabrovo and Asenovgrad by small buses, which provides mobility and quick response in unforeseen situations.
Salt treatment technologies vary according to skin type. Several types of procedures have been developed that have proven themselves over the years. The main aspect in them is the achievement of good conservation, prevention of rejects and last but not least - quality control. For the purpose of better storage, we use mechanical fleshing to treat pig skins, from which an additional product is obtained – fleshing grease (fat), which is also sold on the market. During the summer and in the hot months, refrigerated trucks and large refrigerated rooms are used to store the skins. The entire activity of Translogistik Ltd. is under the veterinary control of the Food Safety Agency at the Ministry of Agriculture.
